Like if someone says something positive about Erra, you’ll find a way to argue it like they’re wrong. I’ve seen It countless times from you. They’re like you’re favorite band so it makes no sense

now i'm confused? i don't think i do this?

I mean I have my complaints about a few of their releases it's not like I'm the first erra fan to be bothered by drift's prod but I didn't think I needed to "imo" disclaimer everything lol the intent is never to come across condescending. sorry that I struck a nerve

All good idk why I got triggered. Sput is just a massive disagreement 90% of the time so not sure what I’m expecting here

Drift to me sounds much more natural compared to the other albums. The drums aren’t super punchy but surprise, drums don’t ever sound they way they do in real life as they do on most metal core records. I guess I just prefer natural sounding production over the massively produced sound.

twilight :handshake: bubs

see I guess another moment of framing when talking to me is that I think disagreements are cool, rad, fun, expected, and make conversation more engaging to me so hopefully that removes a bit of the abrasion haha. I like hearing vastly different perspectives it keeps my mind open.

I can see drift fulfilling a specific niche in production due to its singularity within the scene for sure. I can't really think of any other modern core album that sounds like it

"Drift prod has absolutely no punch on an album that warrants some"

Guitars sound so thin and weak on the shit they might as well have been riffing on cardboard

For sure man, I’ll keep that in mind.

I remember having gripes about drifts production when it came out too. I also didn’t like the album. But now I love it and what they chose to do with the production because it doesn’t “slap” as hard per se but it leaves a bit more room for the melody that album holds to shine through. It all feels more dynamic to me.

To poke a bit at Cures production, there are several awesome lead lines on this that I can barely hear as they’re buried in the mix

I think I just don't like the guitar tones they used lol. there's something about the way they're eq'd that takes a lot of the presence away and kinda blurs the parts in a way that take away from the clarity. to me the melodic aspects of the record sound smudged bc of this. l'll give ya that has nothing to do with the drums tho, and it only really affects the leads and riffs. the twinkly clean stuff sounds phenomenal (end of hypnotist esp)

for the most part I think the songs on drift are great though. I'll be at the 10 year tour belting hourglass

Jesse been burying sick leads in the mix for a while now. His s/t playthroughs on YT showed me that. It’s annoying tbf

I find 0 faults with Drift I love it to absolute death

I also love Twi and Bubs so I’m glad remediation has occurred

the neon playthroughs are hilarious because of that. i was watching the disarray one like, i think maybe this morning, and jesse and sean are spending the whole vid on stuff thats completely inaudible the entire time

Bubs talking lack of clarity of Drift?? Just wow... I can hear everything crystal clear, unlike Cure were the leads are buried, completely agree with twilight

if drift actually sounded crystal clear itd actually rep it lol. the production is really the biggest problem with it. most of the songs are great

not sure there's any erra song i want a remix of more than the hypnotist

I gotta get on Drift and Neon both within the next few days. Not expecting to dig tbh but it has to be done.

Drift is good overall, I'd say I like it way more than I did when it dropped, but I still can't get behind it 100%. I don't think it works as an album, it feels like an album made to be played in an artist shuffle if that makes sense lol

Sleeper, Hourglass, and Continuum are hyper bangers tho
