i actually cannot get over how monstrously heavy this record is. do i like it more than their last album? i'm really not sure, i gave burying brightness a 5 mostly due to the point i was at in my life, so it's hard to say on my end.

I think too many of the songs are mostly indistinguishable from each other and barely have any dynamics within them but there are some standouts. It doesn't help that Matt has no range in his screams so it really becomes difficult to not feel like everything sounds the same.
Also, I listen to tons of music with awful lyrics but "the world is evil and I am the devil" is one of the worst lines I've heard in a long time. Sounds like something you'd see in those parody videos where people transform into the shitty 3D werewolves.
