"Boggles the mind people shit on the last NJ album still btw."
They're not living in the future like us. That album bangs.

I love it. Doesn't have the HOOKS of the previous 2 but I appreciate how comically heavy NJ goes on moments of Deathrattle tbh

Album is solid all around. Still love me some John Henry vocals. They never change but they always satisfy.

New Norma, as a whole, was a major letdown. Its got some decent tracks but I’m with Spec it was mediocre especially for them

"This album is them as shells of their former selves." they're still making identifiably Darkest Hour music, it's just maybe slightly less good than it was 15 years ago jfc quit being so dramatic lol

Not as good aka absolute dog shit. It's not being dramatic its just a fact lmao.

"hey're still making identifiably Darkest Hour music, it's just maybe slightly less good than it was 15 years ago jfc quit being so dramatic lol"
Half the people saying that probably didnt know who darkest hour was 20 years ago so its okay. Their comments are meaningless and hold no value.

I have known/been listening to Darkest Hour for years Storm bro so that doesn't really work. More power to you guys if you dig this. I just happen to think its a generic, awful take on 2000s core.

Saw these dudes last night, probably played 4-5 songs of this. Unfortunately the mix was ass, could only hear John's vocals and Travis banging away. Both guitars were buried and couldn't hear any of the leads or solos. Seen them 5 times now and they usually sound great. Closed with Doomsayer, Thousand Words and Tranquil though so that slapped.

That's tragic, the guitars are such a big part of this band and they absolutely shred live.
How did the crowd react to the new songs?

Only song I noticed the crowd not react much to was One with the Void but John made a disclaimer beforehand saying this was a slow song lol. Opened with Perpetual Terminal and (I think) Societal Bile next and they were hype enough.

Huge NJ fan myself, and yes while their latest album was a let-down overall, it had some redeeming qualities - e.g. unique and non-generic elements, tasty bass production, varying song structures. At least it's evident they are evolving their sound and experimenting a bit.
