I got sent a clip of a studio recording from someone I would imagine is in their circle, and it was pretty brutal at points. I would imagine the new record has more heaviness than Clairvoyant.

False - there is no new Contortionist record. Their IG page is just repeating ebb & flow spam and selling merch. A Real Bandâ„¢ with Realâ„¢ Materialâ„¢ posts about progress. Tried this again and I can totally see the appeal, but yeah it’s just not for me. Vore is cool but only really because it sounds like a Breaking Benjamin song.

6 years is a long time between albums for sure but for a band that puts out material of that quality, consistently tours, and had to deal with Covid the same as everybody else, I'm giving them some slack but also give me new music now I am a product sponge.

Damn do you have a source on this? I never saw anything regarding this. pretty big bummer if true. I will say at the Q&A Mike Cameron and Jordan did most if not all of the talking, honestly it was 95% Mike, and they all came across like pretty genuine and solid people, but the Bacas were very quiet weird vibe.

This comment section is an incredible example of how wildly different people's music tastes can be. Really quite interesting. Gotta be AOTY for me at this rate, didn't expect it to be so divisive. It sounds like the things people don't like are some of the strongest components for me (vocals, lyrics, genre-switching, ballads, etc). Subjectivity is a hell of a drug

JizzToCum, I just wasted my time seeing what tweets Robby likes and I posted them in the Clairvoyant review thread. It just got worse the more I looked. Now I believe the conspiracy that they dropped off the only 2 Canadian dates of their last tour because he refused to get vaxxed.

This didn't grab me as much as I was hoping to. Granite was already my least favorite of the singles, and seeing them jump back into samey R&B across the latter half really disappointed me. Really derained songs like Ascensionism and the title track.
