"Enter Shikari hasn't been metalcore since Take to the Skies (with some exception on each album). I'm plenty with the times Flug."

nah they had major metalcore elements until the mindsweep lol

Fair enough but I never felt like they were purely a metalcore band like most of the other bands they'd come up with. They had a huge shift in sound starting with Common Dreads. Regardless, I think they're at their best when they aren't straight up pop since I don't think Rou is a good enough singer for the style they're going for on this album and The Spark. When his hooks are weak his voice can't compensate for it.

I think Rou went off the rails here in the covid hermit kind of way but this is still at least a 3.2. Album reminds me of my schizophrenic ambient songwriting

Yea I guess, I just never thought of them as metalcore, just trancey post hardcore that got heavy at times lol

Not sure if Bloodshot was intentionally made to sound like the Big Brother theme (given the lyrical content, it kinda makes sense) but my God, it doesn't half sound like it.

Songs a tune though, probably my favourite off this.

Rou is a great vocalist but not a particularly good singer. I don't find his voice to work as well on the pop songs.

The Accentist sounds like an old ES demo.

It is pretty wild that these guys have stayed together for so long with no lineup changes
