If you call this chaotic three times Geordie Greep will appear before you and sing a song with 17 time signature changes about a dog who wants to be a ballet dancer

John Lydon was 19 fronting the Sex Pistols and had something to say.
Windmill arseiness and nobbish bollocks

I’m a bit relieved this band have ‘less to say’ than Steven Wilson, keep politics out of muh nonsense prog

Imagine if Steve Wilson had offered to write the lyrics for this, every other lyric would be ‘the Chinese are listening in to my phone’ or some such - all I can really deduce from these lyrics is the band probably host a book club
I just don’t think asking this band to pretend to be John Lydon is the way to go, would be cringe - this is posh boys being posh but in excelsis

Is it really a song if the lyrics aren't about spending money?

I'm impressed by how immensely irritating some of this is, particularly the vocals. Bravo lads. There's some interesting twiddly tiddly instrumentation that if isolated could prove satisfying enough by itself (speculative), yet I'm distracted by the unnecessarily incessant vox. Honestly makes me appreciate Cavalcade a little more, which I thought impossible.
Also, if you're gonna throw the kitchen sink at it at least chuck some 'who gives a fudge' big boi crescendos... conflicting combo of attempted restraint and maximalist tendencies here

Demon - the vocals and lyrics definitely grew on me to the point it became clear pretty soon that this is their best in both those regards.
The initial obnoxiousness of this album receded for me anyway, love it now

It clicked with me right away. It sounded more like a cartoon than something sincere, so maybe with that perspective, the vocals were just part of the charm.

Yeah Joe, sort of a set of interlinked short stories with a few common threads running through them - the vocals are almost always delivered ‘by a character’, theatrical but in a way that fits amazingly with the music and avoids the pitfalls of getting too close to becoming a quasi-Musical

Yeah, exactly. That's exactly how I'd describe it. Nicely put, Doof. =)
