This is pretty damn impressive and definitely deserving of a high spot, unlike many others in this Sputnik Best Death Metal list of 2022. It only started losing some energy with "Cryogenic Dreamworld" (song number 8) around the 1 minute mark and then never recovered. But, it is otherwise a pretty solid album. Nowhere near on the same level with Had Debut EP (2020) or Grave Miasma Abyss of Wrathful Deities (2021), but perhaps it is indeed the best of 2022 compared to others in this list.

[2] best song on here and probably my favorite they've ever written.

Good to see you Pleb! Was shocked about your absence in this thread haha.

heresy that’s the best song here & the last riff is the best riff on the album

Yeah, what a strange opinion. As soon as those weird spacey synths come in on Cryogenic Dreamworld I immediately get lost in the song. In a good way

i do feel like the first 3 quarters are the strongest parts of the album but the end is still good

Honestly I’m the complete opposite I think the last 1/3 is best part of the record, I’d say it dips in the middle but it’s still solid

album could use a bit more aggression in the second half but it doesn't make it worse necessarily

Album could use some more Parasite Signal esque aggression agreed, but I really like the melancholic melodic vibe they went for on here

I tried with this thinking it would be another avenue to for me to get into this style but I just can't do the vocals on this. Each track they seem like an afterthought, like they have these amazing instrumental albums, they take them down to sesame street and tell cookie monster to gurgle over the tracks for three minutes. It sort of makes everything "samey" to me. (Warning usually enjoy harsh vocals in music, this just sounds like a muddy throat)

@Zakusz have you heard either of the first 2 AB albums? IMO the vocals have a better positive impact earlier in their discog

funnily enough, him reviewing the first one was what got me into this band. dont really watch his reviews often anymore but did watch the one for this and thought he was pretty accurate/fair.
