When I started seeing these guys pop up more in comparison to Loathe I felt compelled to give them another listen not even knowing they had put out another album or that it was further in the alternative metal/quasi-shoegaze direction that lots of bands are going for nowadays (which I have been absolutely eating up). Will report back with my thoughts. I'm on track one right now and it's not enough to get a whole vibe just yet. Singer is ..interesting.

ya i dont blame those who skipped out on this entirely at all lol. most of this is just average deftones worship ngl but casanova, hollywood and raw are all straight up horrendous and those were the songs they chose to push for whatever reason
even without being as consistently awful as those 3 tho this is still mid as hell and a colossal downgrade from what they were doing before. shit is also mad sub par for deftones core too so it aint like it even works on those terms

This has a couple skippable songs (casanova, raw) but I like this. I usually don't like over-the-top vocals like this band has, but the melodies are too catchy. I can see how the overblown production will turn off many but it reminds me a lot of loathe who are a personal favorite. Also, yes there is obvious deftones influence here but it's getting a little tiresome seeing every 'altmetalgaze' band being compared to deftones when there is a distinct sound here (although I will concede to the verse in blue velvet sounding too similar to sextape lol).

Noticed that this had good reviews from everywhere but here so I decided to check this out and hey guess what this is not bad. Yeah the Deftones influence is there but honestly it sounds more like Loathe mixed with glam. I don't get how y'all could fawn over Static Dress and shit all over this.
Also Casanova is good you cowards
