Regarding this album I only got to listen at moderate volume today and it was nothing that grabbed me

I've cranked their singles though and still, nothing stood out

"I don't get how this band became so widespread on here, any time I checked their videos nobody was watching them yet here they are with almost 100 ratings and 10 pages of discussion"

They were relatively unknown here until a few of us started plugging them on the Underoath reviews since Underoath's new material ranges from mid to dookie. A bunch of people got exposure and now the LP rips so it's not a surprise to see them kind of blow up a little bit on the site.

Is this how older underoath sounds?

depends on the track. they have mostly gotten compared to the album theyre only chasing safety, which i guess sweet would be the song most like that, but the rippers like courtney are more akin to like 2006-2010 underoath (which to most around here is underoaths peak). this is pulling from a lot of stuff that uo did not however, as this also has a lot of traces of bands like deftones

Their 3 album run from Define the Great Line, to Lost in the Sound of Separation, to Disambiguation is pretty godly. Must-listens if you dig this album.

I know you didn't just leave out TOCS Jeet lmaooo

If you want more music like this, check TOCS. But their three run stretch previously mentioned is way more heavy and mature, if you're looking for something more serious.

This is kinda like if Spencer didn't do a shitty Dallas impression for all of TOCS. This is definitely heavier too.

But yeah DTGL through Disambiguation is essential core music
