No it's got some prog qualities but it leans more towards alt metal. Absolutely not mainstream rock no way. That album was thirteenth step. Try it more cause it didn't grab me at first. Now it's one of my fav albums of all time.

I believe Gravity he sings a little bit like the beginning of The Pot. Maynard is very aggressive with his voice on 13th Step which is great. So you'll hear a lot of softer vocals.

This is one of my favorite albums of all time. I know most people are partial to TS, but I have always preferred this. Also, this album has always felt more cohesive than TS.... in my opinion of course lol

I really like his delivery on Judith. I have always enjoyed his more aggressive style, but he just has a great voice in general.
