I think this a bit overrated tbh. Do you like Wank Theater when the wank is good? There are some gud wanks here

i'll take Dramatic Turn and the self titled over their last 2 (since Black Clouds)
|
| |
I remember liking Dramatic Turn more than Black Clouds because it made me cringe less, but it has been like since it came out that I've spun that one lol

Dramatic Turns has some standout tracks imo and is really inoffensive
Selftitles has some good tunes as well imo, but in a radio rock way. I am seldom in the mood for it
Distance Over Time is my favorite, because is has the energy and groove. Also At Wit's End is just amazing

At Wit's End would be better if the outro wasn't so repetitive and meandering, but the song is good overall. S2N is my favorite on there, as well as arguably the best Myung showcase in ages

New song is pretty fucking sick. Not quite as hype on it as I was for The Alien but there are some really juicy riffs in there.

The new song feels like the most I've ever enjoyed a Dream Theater song. It DESTROYS

New song is solid for sure, though I was surprised at how many Mangini-era elements it still retained. Almost as if the Portnoy and Mangini worlds have collided a bit
But yeah, good stuff. I'm trying to catch the Inglewood show early next year... never been to a DT show before, so I'm pretty hyped

pretty much where i stand. feels like portnoy added drums to an already finished mangini song

New song isn’t revolutionary but I’ve been enjoying it quite a bit, the band chemistry with Portnoy’s return seems revitalized
|
| |
Portnoy is back??!
OH MY GAWWWD!
