"What song would be the standout track (like "Deflowering the Maidenhead, Displeasuring the Goddess" and "Wester Vespertine" from the previous albums). I need the song that just sticks immediately and stands out from the rest of the album".

There's some contenders, Crawling King Chaos, The Dying of the Embers, Suffer Our Dominion..

"What this album does better than the previous two imo is a unified sound across the entire runtime without sacrificing a good degree of variety". Yeah agree it's well balanced. Quite a brilliant record actually. Perfect representation of CoF in 2021

Still wondering if this has the staying power to be a five, it feels like it might

Every Time I Die’s new one just made my first five of the year too, what a week for new music

'There's some contenders, Crawling King Chaos, The Dying of the Embers, Suffer Our Dominion..'

The first two are certainly my faves thus far. They seem pretty standout-ish to me.

I do think it kinda lacks a discog level standout. cryptoriana had wester vespertine and nothing here is quite at that level i think

They are pretty funny and more-of-the-same, their usual style. Lots of creatures and nakedness and horror vibes. At least that's what I thought.

Here's my ranking at the moment. The top 4 tracks are absolute bangers.

Crawling King Chaos

The Dying of the Embers

Necromantic Fantasies

Black Smoke Curling from the Lips of War

How Many Tears to Nurture a Rose?

Us, Dark, Invincible

Existential Terror

Suffer Our Dominion

Discourse Between a Man and His Soul

The bonus tracks are also nice.

Hawks was the first ever rating for this album, gave it a 5, who would have guessed.
