whatever it is - it's conscious

Biggest weakness with this album is it really settles into its groove, similar tempo/similar energy/similar vocals a lot of the time
Still good though, prob 3.5 - strangely I prefer this year's Tyler to this

I don't see that at all. You have west african inspired songs like Point and Kill + Fear No Man. You have Neo Synth House with Protect My Energy. A hard hitting Banger in Rollin Stone. You have beautiful R&B vocals and yet it all feels coherent

I felt this way the first time I listened, but each repeated listen changed my mind

This shit is so bewilderingly mid Colton would buy an eighth of it from a kindergartener behind the local sevie for 60 bucks and green out just from smelling it, and rowan would 4.7/5 review it

dont rly like the production style

have listened to this enough to see both where this is coming from and that it's a shallow af take

This has a higher rating on RYM based on ~40x the votes than it does here dang

probably the worst album art of the year
it's obnoxiously bad and instantly makes me like it less

This is good and nothing more. Production is crisp and delicious, interludes are tiresome and overwrought, some tracks are great while others are mediocre, and underneath it all I’m not a huge fan of Simz’s flow. Felt that way about GREY AREA, too. 🤷🏼♂️
