Really thought this was gonna get panned on here, but they absolutely hit it out of the park. This is a worthy sequel to the first Colors, which was a ballsy move in its own right.

Has anyone else mentioned how good the drumming is?

I wish there were more clear references to the first Colors cause I'm a sucker for that kinda stuff. But I know it's not exactly what they were doing here. Still a little disappointed on that end but it's okay I accept it haha.

Never once cared about their lyrics tbh lol. On decade of statues it still sounds to me like he's saying "I'll dust it right off (he'll dust it right off!)". No clue to this day wtf they're actually saying lol

Duuuuude I just found a thread on their subreddit of people highlighting references they found to all their past albums

I rly like the album art. Cranes by the water with an incoming storm. Idk what it is about it, just looks cool to me

Last track is definitely a big White Walls reference but I wanted more clear "hey this is the Prequel to the Sequel melody coming back hell yeah" kinda stuff. Most of the stuff in this subreddit seems a little more like "this reminds me of this" and with all the material they've written ever there's bound to be similar writing coming back at points.
And even then most "callbacks" are to other albums. Revolution in Limbo felt like it came right out of Parallax II. It's my favorite album by them so not complaining lol.

@Gyro: I think the part you are referring to is the very beginning when he says "I'll just keep waiting (you'll just keep waiting)", a reprisal from Foam Born A. It's funny though, I know a lot of Tommy lyrics but I'll still mishear a ton from their older albums and the misheard interpretations are usually funny af.
The album art is ace, imo and actually does a great subtle job at indicating the subject matter of some of the themes on the album, particularly on Double Helix/Revolution.
The part in Revolution In Limbo where it's: "The colors painting the canvas, of our ancestors. A city built on your pain, Cranes hanging your lifeless bodies" totally accentuates this.

"Unless, of course, the mathematician puts on a Pikachu onesie and explains the thing on a unicycle, right? Play stupid games, win stupid prizes?"
What the fuck is this lmao

Blown away by how they were actually able to pull this off. Easily their best album since TGM, maybe even beating it, standing toe to toe with the original Colors.

Tried giving this a shot with the first 3 songs, because I know I can't stand "Fix the Error", but not feeling it. I enjoyed Alaska and the first Colors, but that was it for me. Couldn't stand much more than that from these guys.

This could very well beat Colors in the long run tbh, such a tight BTBAM record.
