finally saw the special in full and I can understand why one would hate the music out of context
I think it kinda? works in context especially with the visuals for a song like White Woman's Instagram which is hilariously on point

watched the first 30 minutes or so of the special and really did not like it. If felt like a lot of spoofs of internet culture and lockdown stuff without any cleverness or a particular insight to it. Any observation it made felt really shallow to me. The songs themselves are pretty bad too. None of that would have really mattered if i thought it was funny, but it really wasn't for me.
Maybe it's working towards something later, but i feel no incentive to finish it.

burnham and hamilton both suck but the difference between the two is that hamilton buries its predominantly shit music beneath a couple of good performers with good voices sometimes
whereas burnham's voice isn't strong or pleasant enough to carry his music, which means we're forced to engage with the songwriting and lyrics, neither of which are his strong suit here
