"the atmosphere on this record is really infectious and the vocals are beautiful, very versatile too. i think it's a lot better if you leave expectations at the door."

Well said, I agree with this. This album is a grower and I am digging it.

Every AFI album has grown on me over time. This one was no exception. I probably wouldn't increase my score, because the flaws of the album won't change, but some of the songs I initially felt lukewarm about grew on me a lot.

^ I feel this way about every AFI album (except for Blood, idk what is wrong with me but it has never clicked and I accept that it never will)

This is their first album that clicked for me. I will start listening backwards, so far some of their singles I heard from the last decade are solid.

I have spinned this a lot, a lot, a lot, and now I need to leave it alone for a bit.

It's up there with CL and Blood as my fav afi records though.

AFI has a lot of solid material on their last 3-4 records tbh

it's been a while since they've nailed a full album 100% but yeah this past decade's releases all have some top tier songs on em

Snow Cats grew off me so hard when Blood came out.

the only time I think Davey's voice ever sounded annoying

Locked in tickets to the Chicago show in March. Not particularly excited that it is "the bodies" tour BUT if I remember correctly, "the Blood" tour(s) had INSANE and widely varied setlists.

Well if they play for over an hour then this album can only make up half the show even if they play the whole thing lol

They sometimes play only 30 to 40 minutes as the headliner tho. Last time I saw them they played half the time they played compared to two years before at the same venue.

An AFI show is typically about an hour and 15 minutes, with an encore included in there. I've seen them 4 times, it never ran to the hour and a half mark. They're fairly energetic on stage, so I get that. 15 more minutes could be 3 or 4 more songs in their set, though haha.

Looks like they were doing just 10 song sets on their 2018 tour. But all these new songs are relatively short.

if they're not opening, you can expect a pretty lengthy/diverse set.

got tickets for NY, likely gonna splurge and get Philly or DC too
