"Starts really interesting but then i feel like every song is the same."
Had a similar experience. Album starts off fantastic, but then it all kept blending together. Listened to the full album, but was ready for it to be over by the end. Don't think it was the headphones I was using, but I also felt exhausted after the experience as far as the sonic assault to my ears. First song is clearly the best song on here. Ultimately not my thing, and I wouldn't revisit the album, but feel my rating stands from my one listen haha.

I think they differentiate things sufficiently across the runtime. There are a lot more subtleties happening below the surface in terms of the individual riffs. Credit where credit's due for their drummer as well, they add a lot of color to the tracks.

As a drum & bass enthusiast, an LP worth of things being a different spin off a singular idea doesnt bother me much, so the lack of definably overt variation for novelty's sake is no concern.

^ As well. Plenty of albums in the vein of hardcore don't switch things up too drastically throughout their runtime. But, like here, the foundation and what they do with their tools is enough to make many compelling songs.

"Great album so far, but I feel like every song sounds the same"
It sounds like a run-of-the-mill shoegaze/hardcore album. This one will be forgotten in a week. Nothing to see here folks.

Everyone would benefit from more Coheed and Cambria.
Good taste Walrus.

"You heard the man, everyone go listen to Coheed and Cambria now."
This is really important advice. Good call man.
"This is run of the mill? Wish I knew where the mill was..."
It's in northern Michigan or somewhere cold that churns out bland hardcore.

This is definitely reminiscent of other hardcore/shoegaze/blackgaze material, but I think it has enough going for it to stand out still.

I mean, I don't think this is 4.5-5 material, but if some of you all think it is, then that's cool. It made me want to go listen to other bands I enjoy more, though. The Hopesfall comparison was like "Oh, yeah. I'd rather just listen to them instead."

This isn't in the same vein as Hopesfall at all though unless you really stretch to make comparisons.

I saw Hopesfall mentioned and from my admittedly shallow knowledge of that band’s music, I didn’t understand the comparison.

It's all screamo, because people scream in both bands.

I wanted so badly to get into Hopesfall with their last album but if you put a gun to my head and told me to recount anything about it I couldn't.
If there is a better starting point in their discography I'll give them another spin.
