After giving Ascension a couple listens, I wouldn’t say it’s his best work. After reading the above review, I would consider it in itself “bloated” and “grandiose.”

Still too early for me to rank tracks (like I always do), but my initial favorites here are definitely America, Ativan, The Ascension, and Make Me an Offer.
I also feel like a lot of this album sounds like a more lowkey Impossible Soul, which is probably a big reason why I love it.

tbf I do have a bloated writing style, in a sense that I try and compact a lot of my thoughts into a relatively short read, so it can come off as too condensed
when an 80-minute album still sounds too busy and, well, bloated, it’s more of an issue imo
