Weird, but i remember this being highly well received upon release. More so than One Assassination Chapter 1 even. So with Chapter 2 out now, I was just looking through some updated MM album rankings online and quite a few had WaC near the bottom, even behind shit like High End, Eat Me, Grotesque and Born.



Out of the five albums released of his late career resurgence beginning with the Pale Emperor, I’d put this in first. In fact, it would be number 4 in my full ranking, behind the triptych records. But, controversially I assume, I’d actually put Emperor in last. I like HuD quite a bit too in fact. I need to give Emperor another listen though, it’s been awhile and I honestly can’t even remember what any of the songs sound like at this point. Prob didn’t give it enough time to soak in to begin with perhaps.

I agree mate, this is such an underrated album of his. OAUG is the best thing he’s done since holywood, but then it’d be this, then TPE
