Niceee. I'd keep it at a 4 if it had just one more song like Difference of Vengeance and Wrongs.

Feels like this band has two vocalists now, both Jessie and Karl lol

Heard this finally, and it's ok.

Glad to see this record is a grower for some, I just find it to be a bunch of strong songs

Also I wasn’t trying to trash Mirrors too hard, I really enjoy that record. It’s just that it’s biggest problem is that it is bloated and I think this is really tight and focused

Album has some interesting parts, but most of the songs I'm waiting for it to get to the next level, and most of the time I'm left disappointed. Vocals seem very by the numbers as well, not much emotion, more or less cranking it out.

Agreed sadly. Still a jam, I gotta say the highlights here hold a lot of replay value

Cant wrap my head around people saying River King is the best on the album, the first half is fine but then I just jump between being bored and cringing.

nah key change is super smooth and the breakdown is huge thanks to jesses massive performance. only gripe is maybe it switching back to the chorus again at the end but its fine for bringing it to a close and does more to grab my ear in one song than most of this album

I like River King, The Fall, Cascade, and Some Dreams, that would've made a nice EP

Give me Tempest, Sunlifter, River King, Old Ghosts, and Cascade Locks. Keep the rest.

Production level of this is better than any of theirs in the past, lyrics aren't stupid like in Absent Light ("...a funeral call to those who mourn..."), and obviously nothing will have the same emotion that their EP or Malice has. Ya it took years to make this but they're all old dudes now with their own families and surely have other careers going on. All that crap with Karl and bringing Jessie back took time too. Got a chance to meet Brandon and Jessie in person at their Iowa City show a few years back and they let me hug them.

Look I know you have a big hate boner for this album but the drums make it a 3 minimum

"I love this album but a few songs didn't really need to be here. If it was an EP with Sunlifter, Old Ghosts, Cascade Locks and Some Dreams then it would have been a 4.5/5"

Pretty much how I feel exactly.
