This is gonna be one of those albums you go back to for different reasons / songs years from now...just like Currents and honestly Lonerism
It's hard tho cuz rn I love 9-10 songs off here

"Artwork of the year already"
Yeah I love the album art. Posthumous Forgiveness especially matches it. Kind of wish the whole album had that sort of sound

I didn't like the red color pallette at first, but it fits.

Yeah, this honestly might become my second favorite TI. Lonerism > This > Innerspeaker. Innerspeaker is awesome at times but I can't get past the blatant Beatles worship. This has much more of its own sound. Still need to hear Currents.

So glad you mention the Beatles worship, it’s the only reason why I can never fully get on board with the first two lps. This and currents are their own beast. Can’t wait until you hear currents, it’s incredible

It's funny though because the Beatles worship, while self evident, doesn't bother me on Lonerism and it's one of my top albums of the decade. Maybe the songwriting just speaks to me more on that one. Songs like Elephant are downright legendary.

It is true, but Lonerism is as big of a Beatles worship as Innerspeaker is

Yeah this whole thing is basically me just admitting hypocrisy but for whatever reason I find Lonerism's Beatles worship much better. Innerspeaker is still great though and I highly enjoy it.

Nothing wrong with it
Both albums lack originality but that doesn't mean at all that they lack quality. In Lonerism's case, it's just too good

Agreed, they’re thoroughly enjoyable. But, as I said, the last two records have their own identity, so I can relate to them much more

How does Currents differ from this? Kind of curious even though I'm going to check it out anyway.

It’s a little bit more rock-y, but it’s chocker with awesome melodies and catchy instrumentals. This is a lot my subtle in comparison

Sounds like my kind of thing. Excited to hear it.

How come you never jammed at the time? Just curious, since you were obviously a fan before currents

Never understood why people wrote InnerSpeaker and Lonerism off as Beatles worship. If anything it’s Animal Collective worship.
It’s close to something like Helter Skelter or Everybody’s Got Something to Hide, but those higher energy songs really aren’t emblematic of the Beatles core sound at all.

Currents follows more or less the same style as this one but I found its sound to be richer and way more varied

Sowing I can bet my money that you're gonna love the shit out of currents, might become your favorite TI album together with Lonerism.
