Anyone holding out hope for something good from Konami is like 80% doomed to disappointment. Shareholders don't give a damn about anything but returns, no incentive to give the intellectual property of SH / Castlevania / MGS etc to a group that would handle them with care.

I can't remember this part for the life of me, can you be more specific? The only part I remember from the second half is the wish house stuff and the ghosts of the victims following you if you don't pin them.
@0guy I can confidently say 100%, outside mgs have they made anything worthwhile and culturally relevant in the past 20 years?

Believe he's talking about the animal shop thing. I didn't consider it that memorable, just goes to show how differently things can affect SH players individually.
SH1 school lives rent-free in my head forever, for example lol. The fucking crying in the bathroom and cat locker got me so good.

Don’t think I’m gonna bother with this remake. The voice acting is pretty bad, and it just looks like every other crap modern-day AAA game which lack soul.
I’d rather they just release the original games on steam, GOG, etc.

I'm going to buy the remake out of solidarity for my younger self. Akira Yamaoka is behind the helm of the audio again, so it's worth it for that reason alone. I haven't bought a game day of for years and years, so I'll allot myself this one exception, even if it ends up being ass.

I'm so tired of morons remaking classic games and/or movies because they can't come up with anything original themselves. Leave it how the fuck it is and call it a day. 9/10 remakes of anything blow and never do the originals justice imo.

i also find it mildly irritating these days when people name-drop akira like that'll prove the quality of the game. don't get me wrong, his music has always been consistently great, but he had absolutely no input on the games themselves other than sound design, nor did he give a shit about anything outside of his wheelhouse. seems the passage of time overlooks the fact he was "producer" on some of the worst games in the series.
