This is growing on me fast. First playthrough didnt really convince me, but after multiple listens now this sounds like a strong 4.

"If they didn't drown out the vocals towards the end of the title track"
Which part do you mean? I'm curious because I love the back half of that song and didn't feel anything was washed out, of course I never heard them play it live.

The bit where he kicks it up an octave near the end. The final chorus/verse/whichever. There's quite a bit of reverb on his voice and there are so many guitars that his voice doesn't shine through that much. If you DM me your email I'll send you the live version I'm talking about where you can really hear him yelling over the instruments and it's grand.
edit: no need to DM I'll just put it on dropbox

Yeah the part you just described where he kicks it up an octave is absolutely my favorite part hahaha. I'll have to listen and compare.

I think the song is great, I just need to adapt to the production style on this album. It doesn't sound like IB, which I instantly warmed to. Each listen is better than the last for me though.

Same here. Integrity Blues may very well be my favorite Jimmy Eat World album. I didn't "live through" BA and Futures - but rather enjoyed them in reflection during high school - so the first of their albums that I actively anticipated was Chase This Light, and IB is easily the best of their post-Futures albums if you ask me, including this. Surviving is up there though, it keeps climbing my personal Jimmy chart with every passing week. Right now, I'd rank as follows:
1. Integrity Blues (5/5)
2. Futures (5/5)
3. Bleed American (4.7/5)
4. Clarity (4.5/5)
5. Invented (4.5/5)
6. Surviving (4.3/5)
7. Chase This Light (4.3/5)
8. Damage (3.5/5)
9. Static Prevails (3.5/5)
10. Jimmy Eat World (3/5)
When all is said and done I think Surviving will pass Invented, but not the top 4 on this list.

Integrity Blues, Surviving
Bottom tier:
Chase This Light, Invented, Jimmy Eat World

@Sowing I think I'd agree with that entirely. Top four are mine too, just shuffle them a little. I think this is better than Chase This Light. Not sure on Invented yet. This would need to become a 5 to surpass it.

I got BA very shortly after it came out, but not early enough to anticipate it coming out. I was instantly in love with the band though so in 2002 all I listened to were BA, Clarity and Static. Living through Futures and the hype around it was great, let me tell you. A lot of positive energy and positive reception across the web surrounding that album. That might play into why Futures ranks higher than CTL for me, because I felt like I already intimately knew the band by the time CTL came out so the diversion to a more bright and poppy sound was a little irksome for me. Not that If You Don't, Don't didn't already hint at it but still, CTL kicks the sound into a different dimension.

I’m really in love with the drum production here, just the perfect amount of punchy and crisp
I am v glad to hear this as Damage has some of the worst drums I've ever heard in my life and the production concerns made me think that was gonna be back for this. good grief
still haven't heard the album tho as the only leak is in VBR - absolutely disgusting, what is this the stone ages

I think the drums here are a bit too thin and drowned out. But there's a very good chance you wont agree with me!

One Mil ends on the same note as Crush. My subconscious keeps thinking it's going to lead into 12.23.95.

Delivery is my favorite. Love the lyrics and melody. Feels like it could have been a hit single on Futures.

not sure
we've been trying to slow down the feature flow, gives each album a little more time in the spotlight
also I try not to feature my own work. I have before, but only if things are stagnant and the board hasn't changed in days lol.

lmao nice job trying to temper expectations Sowing
Third playthrough, this is definitely my favorite output from them since Futures. It took 15 years, but they made an album that I love, and not just "like a lot" and pick-through. This is wonderful.
I am so happy with this.
Delivery, Diamond, Recommit, Congratulations are top-tier J.E.W. for me, and the rest is merely 9.5/10.
555 just has such a non-J.E.W. chorus that it's taking me a bit to acclimate to.
