I like the band's term: experimental/beach math

we need more beach math

This reminds me of like... if Mr. Bungle and Coalesce had a baby. It’s really really dense and creative but like there isn’t a lot of hooks bringing me back so far. But will keep giving it a chance, this is gonna take a few spins.

Yes..."experimental" was the first word that came to mind on this one, so I feel that too. I'll stick to it hard though.

I thought this has precisely zero hooks to begin with, sounded much more infectious on the 3rd spin. Hopefully that continues.

@Jester: I’m not that well versed, not sure if all these are mathcore but my experience is essentially just a handful of bands... tDEP, Rolo Tomassi, Botch (struggled getting into them), The Chariot (One Wing is excellent). Probably forgetting something obvious, not sure what counts though, is some Converge mathy? Like, where’s the line?

Yea it’s a pretty broad term really but I’d say out of those Botch would be the most apt comparison to Seizures. This obviously goes into more spacey territory though

on the contrary I find this a very catchy album as I keep catching myself whistling various parts of it
maybe it's just that I've listened to it a hundred times though

I too find it infectious but crazy mathy shit gets stuck in my head more easily than something more steady. I’m a drummer so listening I tend to listen to those parts and dissect rhythms first thing

I like this more than The Sanity Universal

And this is definitely catchu. A lot of the atmospheric moments give me some DnB type of vibes.

I don't think I've ever heard anything like this before. Mathy metalcore mixed with a chill-out, jazzy, west coast vibe. I love it. So far my metal AOTY if All Hail doesn't take it

All Hail will be good but it won’t beat this.

This is 3rd for me. I dig new Wristmeetrazor and SeeYouSpaceCowboy harder than this.

All Hail will hopefully be good.

They take from a lot of Fear Before the March of Flames, Me and Him Call It Us and other old school 2000s zany Mathcore and modernize it in a way where they still keep the essence of those bands. Their newest also added hints of bands like Poison the Well with the melodic intersections.

Theyre also leagues above all of the shitty overrated Disembodied and Vision of Disorder knock-offs that are as big as them and a total plague on modern Hardcore.

I think that was like the original DEP M.O. other than like... west coast vibes

More Odd How People Shake and Art Damage than The Always Open Mouth btw.

But yeah theyre actually pretty technically dense and a step above all of the br00tal kidz core music of this decade.
