Am I the only one getting Julia Holter vibes from "When Anger Turns to Honey", especially in the beginning?

Nope, you are not! Glad you dig this, Sowing! Wolfe is awesome!

I wish I liked this more, but this seems like the least interesting of her last four albums. Certainly some high points, but it has nothing on Abyss or Hiss Spun

I really wanted to love this. Probably listened to it five times and it just isn’t doing much for me. It’s early but I’m really curious where she’ll go from here

Some real great songs on here. I'm glad she pared things back (not that I didn't love Hiss Spun), but her voice really shines here with more space

I keep trying to get into this, but I just don't find a single one of these songs to be particularly memorable. It's kind of caught in between trying to be the singer-songwriter album it was billed as and still trying to have all the layers and atmospheric stuff from her last few, and it just results in these pretty songs that don't really do anything.

Pretty much exactly how i feel. It’s been a while since I listened to it but I think Apokalypsis is much better than this while still having that folksy singer songwriter vibe

I was hoping for more stuff like the last few songs off Pain Is Beauty, because those blow every single song on here out of the water.

It's pretty good but my least favorite album from her. I love how the last two albums hit hard but her first few have that rough/indie/folk sound.

Preach angel.
I really like a few tracks off this but they can’t touch They’ll Clap When You’re Gone or The Waves Have Come.
This album is just a lot more one note than her other records

That's pretty much my feeling as well. I am really enjoying this but once the novelty wears off I can't see myself reaching for it over most of her other work.
Also 'Deranged for Rock and Roll' is the most grating thing she's ever made so there's that.

I dunno. "Sunstorm" is pretty goofy and grating to me.
