I guess I didn't find this nearly as scattered and haphazard as I've seen others claim it to be. The chief issue I believe, should there be any large one to note, arises from a pretty homogeneous structure that prevails (heavy chug - heavy chug - sudden quiet part - chug chug) and the fact that it does demand a lot of time from the audience. But in terms of overall composition, flow, tone, etc. I think it's quality.

Trying to, at least. Been needing a kick in the ass for some inspiration.
Part of the problem is I'm seeing Avantasia this week which is like a dream for me so I've basically been listening to nothing but Tobi for the past month or so.

I'm about 2/3 of the way through this and I'm a little torn. On one hand, there's a ton of great stuff in here that is juicy af. A lot of the individual aesthetics of the sections are really appealing. On the other hand, this is a fucking mess with nothing that I can detect holding it together into a cohesive unit, even on an individual track level.

This has got to be the worst and most useless implementation of ambient/atmospheric sections I've heard in a long time. The transitioning is laughably bad at times.
I respect their ambition, but they've bitten of way more than they can chew.

Yeah at this point I'm ready for the album to be over. This has all the trademarks of a band that truly believes they've just crafted the most unbelievably epic album ever. Maybe with time and experience, they can refine this into something truly great. I'll probably come back and give this another chance at some point, but after the first listen I just feel exhausted.
