I get ya on "Fool's Game" Doof but urgh, I'm too much of a hopeless romantic to not be completely moved by the lyrics.

Not much talk about the opener yet. That's a top 5 song on here for me.

oh by far

and this is probably lame but it just means so much to me to hear sput going on about an artist that's meant so much to me but has really be underappreciated here and in the music world lately so its cool (:

Opener is my 4th favourite, so it's great. Perfect mood setter.

Lucman - the lyrics are not my problem on Fool's Game, like I said turn the verse into an extended segue track with some atmospherics and make it run under 90 seconds and that would be perfect. As it is it's a real momentum killer for me.

[2] apparently it came out of a sudden imrpovisation while they were all tuning their instruments, lyrics, melodies, everything

"Baby Now" is probably the only one I could cut from here without feeling too bad

Baby Now is one of the best.

The closer is the most innocuous standard folk tune ever - plus it follows a better song that sounds more like a closer.

That could go.

It's the best song released so far this year Boney :D

I know every comment in this thread from me so far has been about "Don't Settle" but those of you who consider that song to be a highlight of this record need very much to check "Muddy River of Loneliness" by Midnight Choir, along with parent album Amsterdam Stranded

I will say that it seemed to kinda tail off after the first few tracks but I can see it being a grower.

"Mary" and "Threading Water" work so well together. One of the best sections of the album imo.

You dudes never heard a folk album before - that’s a pretty standard toon

Nothing special. It’s not bad though, but I’ve heard similar a thousand times before. Previous song is ten times better and more interesting :/
