Also Le Secret is my pick for best from Alcest, the first time I heard Elevation back in 2005 just blew my mind. Hard to beat that mind-blowing factor. A friend told me to listen to the EP since he knew I loved Drudkh and the rest is history.

Their EPs were blackgaze but they haven’t come close since. And yes Alcest def invented the whole sound.

There are plenty of blackgaze albums that I wouldn't say were copies of Alcest. For example, An Autumn for Crippled Children have their own unique sound that doesn't feel at all like they lifted from Alcest. Other first wave of blackgaze (lol) bands like Heretoir and Thranenkind were pretty different as well, especially for their first releases.

Needs a touch more variety. Breathe is such a solid track though. Same with Sunset and A New Color. Enjoying the guitar solos in this a fair amount this time around too.

I like it more than Air. It's a nice relaxing jam.

I wish these guys used as much variety in their guitar tones as Alcest does because most of this sounds samey, but it's beautiful Alcestcore type music. I wanna try Air.

This is just really uplifting and consistent, kind of one-note, but still really enjoyable.

I prefer most post rock type of stuff as far as one-note, uplifting stuff goes, but yea it rules, but Air is actually fucking better haha xD
