Okay after listening to this album a little more, it’s definitely gotten a little better. It’s just so brutally average. I actually like Heavy Is the Weight, but the rap part is really bad lmao.

"There's nothing left here to fight for, we've both been bled dry
Stop wasting time, yours and mine, cause God knows we tried"
This is probably a better example here @ButtBoy
and @Seanicito: honestly don't mind the rap part but that's me

Even memphis may fire thinks this version of memphis may fire is trash.

Certainly won't be the last metalcore band to go soft

Metalcore will propably vanish in a few years just like nu-metal did

With the trends of morphing metalcore into some wannabe djent shit, I say bring it on. What I won't be looking forward to, however, is not being able to find new heavier acts that actually speak of stuff that is relatable from time to time.

Bad djent is still better than the octane radio bullshit that most metalcore bands have switched to

Djent owns

GOOD djent owns. I'm just sick of every band masking their inability to write engaging riffs with low tunings. Plus it spawned those cringe "what if [x band] tuned down?" videos. I would rather this or the new BFMV than shit like Bad Wolves, some early Wage War, etc. The River is a song I want to like but holy fuck that guitar tone gives me cancer.

Wage War sucks so I mean yea

What really chapped my ass was when I was going on Reddit trying to find breakup songs and everyone recommended The River. Love the lyrics but fuck that instrumental line.

Imagine thinking that the guitar tone in The River sucks while enjoying this record and Erase Me

At least it sounds like they have a guitarist

So does this, Erase Me is debatable on some songs but it works for that sound.

Furthermore, not having a guitarist in front isn't always bad. The new Rolo Tomassi is a prime example of that.

Yeah but you can still hear it, this album, Erase Me, and the new Asking Alexandria album sound like there's barely any guitar
