Man, I love the new track; it's so raw. I actually think the band is terrible at picking tracks for their albums. The new song could have easily taken one of the spots on here.

It's nice in it's songwriting but I can't believe I'm the only one who hates the production. What the fuck is going on with it? Can't hear anything. Very muddy. It's similar on this album. who produced this?

Not just you, production sucks. The guy who produced is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Fridmann

It's raw yeah, but I don't mind if the song itself is good. Really like the ending especially.

The biggest issue is Interpol albums are terribly mastered (way too loud) so it just sounds dull, compressed, and lifeless. Granted, that's how most music has been mastered for the last 20 years. It's like artists don't have ears.

Saw them live last night. The Rover and Number 10 blew me away live. Listened to Number 10 earlier today with my brother and we both thought it sounds like crap on the album. Compressed to hell.

If You Really Love Nothing is such a killer track, fantastic live as well. I wish the production was different. I mean Number 10 really takes you to another place live in the verses. Everything so loud and clear instead of the muddy album version.

Fine Miss is a cool song, I'd love to hear it recorded properly.

The David Fridmann era of Interpol is just a huge waste IMO. There are songs on here that probably could have sounded way cooler.

Holy shit, I just watched a live concert from about a month ago, if I'm not mistaken, and Paul sounds like absolute shit. He seemed like he wasn't even trying.

Ever since he changed up his voice and delivery style to this very whiney goat-like nasal voice he has been very subpar live, but this was on another level of terrible.

Just listen to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCQvelF6oaU

Shame, because I was really hyped to see them at one point.

I'm still very disappointed by this album. They made the wrong stylistic and production choices on this album for me. They were on to something with El Pintor but they ditched it too fast.

Every time I come back to this I am even more baffled by how absolutely inexcusable trash the whole mix and production are. Who said okay to this and why.

Yep pretty much. The remix of If You Really Nothing is fantastic though

I'm one of the few people on this earth who quite enjoy this.

On the other hand I actually do understand the hate it gets.

You'll probably love S/T then. Not that it's similar but it's a vastly superior and a very underrated album.
