It seems obvious you don't get what I meant.

saying "eh, this is alright" but giving it a 5 makes no sense. This Message Edited On 01.13.08
Best album of '06 so far, in my opinion. I loved, and still love, Chasing Safety, but this album has a lot better music and, unlike 99% of the other records out there right now, it's not an album of a bunch of singles that could go in any order. You have to listen to this cd from beginning to end to get the full effect of it. It's pretty much freaking awesome.
I might like this actually. Their old stuff kind of turned me away from the band and when they were deathcore or whatever they weren't that exciting.

I'll give this a listen though.

This is possibly the greatest heavily pop influenced post hardcore/metalcore/alternative record in years. This Message Edited On 02.01.08

You leave it in you car?

My copy has been collecting dust since shortly after its release date.

The only album I whip out every so often by these guys is The Changing of Times.

On a side not: I like how these guys won't jump on a major label because they're content with a somewhat big indie.

Even though they changed their style heavily over the years, you really can't call em sell outs.

Looking at your album ratings, I'm guessing you'll rate this a 3.5 or 4.

@Illuvatar I do but it has lost its flare.

I'm surprised you like this album that much.

First song is very Norma Jean. I like it.

Vocals are the only area where things could be much improved I think.

If you think the vocals can improve a lot you would really hate their previous albums. Especially They're Only Chasing Safety; I love poppy post hardcore but the singing on that album isn't very good.

His clean singing is tolerable but a tad whiny. His growls and screams are quite well executed.

I figured I wouldn't like their earlier albums - I heard a few older songs from their past two albums and disliked it a fair bit.

Writing on the Walls is the best song.

Casting Such A Thin Shadow reminds me a little of Devil Sold His Soul. Particularly the build up.
