Ugh yeah that one in particular is the highlight. One of my favourite musical moments this year I think. When the wah guitar kicks in is icing on the cake.

Okay, gave it two more listens. Top three tracks: Wishing Wells, The Void, and I Hope You Rot. Cemetery Bloom would be a favorite too if the song went somewhere, as I love the atmosphere they crafted in that track. Idk I still stand by my original comment earlier. I have never heard an album quite like this. There’s an ongoing piratey/nautical feel throughout the album. Not cheesy like Alestorm, but almost haunting. Like a shipwreck or graveyard by the sea. The closest thing I can link it to is Scooby Doo on Zombie Island. Captain Moonscar and all of that. Not like the songs in that movie, but the vibes that movie gives off. Idk if that makes sense to any of you but yeah, definitely dig this. Honestly more than I thought I did.

Edit: and I just don’t see how a comparison to FFDP is even logical. I’ve heard all of their albums (my fiancé used to be a huge fan of them) and I can’t think of one song that sounded like anything FFDP has released

your description of this album (in terms of its atmosphere and feel, "haunting, like a shipwreck or graveyard by the sea") is way more appropriate and fitting for Horizons than this

It doesn’t have that piratey/nautical vibe I get from this too though. It’s the combo of the two that I really dig. Don’t get me wrong, though, Horizons is an awesome album

Edit: misread your comment at first and didn’t catch you also included the shipwreck part. Idk man, I just pick up that vibe infinitely more on here

Chronos saves this from being like a 1.5. I hate feeling this way about a Parkway album but just can't get into it. I always find myself going back to KWAS and Horizons

Chronos is pretty tight, just too long. Wish they would have chopped some length off there and fleshed out Cemetery Bloom a lot more

I enjoy the hell out of Chronos more than the rest of the album combined. But opinions...

I personally don’t understand really enjoying a particular song on this album and not at least tolerating the rest. I like every song on here for the same base reason, just with slight variances.

But hey, that’s how taste works. Just glad to see something other than a 1 or 1.5 so cheers haha

“The rest of the album is just that bad”

Idk it’s fine if you guys think so, I just don’t get it, as every song scratches more or less the same itch for me to just about the same degree. The only song that bothers me in any capacity is Shadow Boxing. And the only part there that does is that weird angry rap shit Winston does near the beginning. The only thing keeping me from liking this album more is it’s a bit too samey throughout. And yeah the production is a big part of my admiration for this
