Most hecklers missed the point of the record or only listened to the singles. People looking for another Tool album were fooling themselves anyways. A Perfect Circle was never Tool. "Mer de Noms" wasn't even close to a Tool record. This album may be debatable, but it's far from a piece of trash.

truly awful record, and Hourglass may be the worst song that I've heard this year.

Odd to see so much hate for this. I was definitely expecting dissention because it's APC but more along the lines of "is this a 2.5 or a 4?", not people outright 1'ing it. It may not be exactly what you wanted but it's a solid rock album with signs of musical and personal growth.

I always thought A Perfect Circle wrote some genius songs. "The Noose," "The Outsider," "Blue," and so many others were written excellently. "Judith" is a rather obvious mention despite its misinterpretation. The lyrics for Eat the Elephant are written a lot differently. I don't think subtlety was the goal here. I'm pretty sure MJK wanted to wake everyone up.
