Wow the hype and high rating for this fell apart too hard.
Anyway, really love Lightyears.

I’m not sure what people were expecting. It’s several wonderful songs from a beautiful singer and songwriter. I’m fuckin satisfied, even tickled, and Kim herself asks nothing more

I see no point in going back to Vows. That style has been done to perfection she has no reason to try imitating it again. I'm still enjoying this album and I'll enjoy seeing her live this Saturday.

I’ve listened to this record like 5 times this week. I’m still kinda smitten.

Gave this a shot cause I liked her on that What's in my bag episode of Amoeba. Half way through and it's ok, nothing mindblowing though. Like They Do on TV is my highlight so far.

That’s my fave too. All of the best songs have been growers though. I listened to the 3 singles on repeat and they all good. Record is def front loaded with the good tracks though

it's taken almost 2 years but I am really quite fond of this album now. most of the tracks are a good solid bop. Golden Echo has higher highs, namely Miracle, Madhouse, but it also has Everlovin' Ya and Rescue Him :/ this is probably more consistent overall for me

if you buy her NFT and invert the colours on your monitor you can see a special code. it is a shortened link to a google maps address. you must dig a 3 metre hole there, and you will find a box. inside the box is sheet music, which when played on a piano with a broken F string (because F is Kimbra's least favourite note) and recorded in Audacity, the spectrogram will show a message saying "NEW ALBUM JAN 19"

but the album got pushed back by her record label anyway

I liked this but it was just too similar to all the other synthpop coming out at the time and after the golden echo i was expecting more art-pop brilliance. Also, rescue him is fucking awesome.
