I despise the ear-shattering production but I really like that this album keeps its momentum from beginning to end, even the token post rock passages feel purposeful. With a rawer production it would sound fierce. My favorite track is the t/t.

I must have given this album like 50 listens or something and I still find new things to love about it. Really stoked to see them live at Damnation Festival next month.

I found this pretty immediate, not really a grower. it's kind of you get what you hear imo, nothing spectacularly original and groundbreaking but very well executed.

Yeah but it took a while to realise just how well executed it is, as all you hear on first listen is very standard, non-original/groundbreaking blackgaze as you say

dunno if I agree there mate. I heard straight away that this was some very well executed blackgaze, which as you say, it is ^^

Idk I guess it's more to do with me not getting overly excited when I give a cursory listen to something thats very by-the-book. In music I tend to look for something that surprises me rather than just purely good songwriting

Gotcha. Either way we both realized, in our own ways and pace, that this rules.

Considering how well this debut is going down and also the numerous praise this band's live experiences are getting, I don't think they need to rush a sophomore effort at all. I agree with your sentiments though.

They definitely shouldn't rush it, but I can't wait. Need to see em live.

When they shift the tremolos up an octave and the double bass comes in on the bridge of Bruma = jizz

Just realised their EPs are free on Bandcamp. And there's an instrumental version of JORD but that costs money
