So, are we going to ignore the IMMENSE Black Dahlia Murder influence?

after that rivers of nihil album i was ready to dislike this but i'm so glad that it's actually good and riffs hard

again though the drum production is kinda off. feels a bit too gated and plasticky

I mean it is really good, but it is hard to digest as it comes so large and complex, but I guess this is my isasue with most prog

"So, are we going to ignore the IMMENSE Black Dahlia Murder influence?"

Slave Goo World is literally a blatant rip-off of Deflorate-era TBDM. Its gone way beyond influence here..

Hey man, even Seven hasn't checked them yet & she's heard way more metal than me. Give me a break, haha.

Honestly, there are far more embarrassing examples of metal bands I haven't heard yet.

Black Dahlia is godly. One of the most consistent bands in the modern metal game.

Production is pretty good, honestly.

"The ride cymbal gets on my nerves, but it's a minor detail. The album is pretty interesting."

I can understand that. It adds character to the playing for me, though.

Don't want to be that guy, but the drums on this are programmed aren't they?

Yes, it's only 2 guys & one of them (not sure who) programs the drums.

There are people who haven't heard The Black Dahlia Murder? Damn, I thought they were one of the most household names in extreme metal. Definitely check out Nokturnal, their other stuff is pretty good too. I used to fanboy them so much but these days Trevor Strnad's highs get on my nerves a little bit.

In the course of the last month I have discovered this band, Artificial Brain and Gorguts. It's been a damned good month. This might be my favourite thing from all of those bands though, the riffs just cannot be denied.
