I definitely understand the comparisons to the GOY record, as well as the There Will Be Fireworks record. All three are dense, sprawling, intimate, well produced, with a night-time aesthetic and vibe. And all three are great.

I'm looking at a 3.5 to full-on 5 rating for this. Such a wide range, but this thing is amazingly hard to digest. White Lighter has better songs, but this is a better album, somehow. The overall themes and messages are just so clearly executed. Production is ace.
Gangs of Youth is way more straightforward than this. I agree more with the There Will Be Fireworks comparisons, though. At first the whole thing seems slow, but it's definitely that way for a reason.
