might as well bump this to a 2.5 for Tabula Rasa, doof

unless you think this is "That Bjork" tier stuff

If I can make it through one more full listen and not so much as look at the skip key I will bump to a very respectable Doof 2.5 aka the ‘average to good’ rating on my foolproof RYM scale

I like to imagine you were suggesting Doof has a 60 second attention span but realise that it was probably the other meaning you were going for.

Geez Doof. I'm still nursing my wounds from how meh this album is, so ease off the absolute wreckage.

I've been listening to it masochistically and I do enjoy it on some level and recognize its merit/intention, but it's undeniable that these songs are too long for their own good and Bjork is on autopilot. This does not need to be this long. It's pure indulgence.

I can't but agree with the general sentiment, but there is too much bjork history in my life to give her less than a 3.5

I didn't even listen to a full Bjork song until this year so I have almost no baggage attached. Her stuff is so precious and sentimental that I can only imagine how emo I'd be if I had real history tied to her music. I think this is a good album, it's just that she has raised the bar so high for me that I demand nothing less than perfection and transcendence, and this provides neither.

Yeah man, totally understandable. I grew up with her basically, I was 20 when I discovered Homogenic, and well, 20 years later here we are.

With fucking Arca.

I've listened to a bit of Arca and his stuff seems so arch that his contribution here feels oddly subdued. Not at all what I expected.

arch is such a good adjective to describe Arca's solo stuff, and it's only one letter away from his name!

I only really got into Bjork properly this year & this doesn’t draw me in emotionally like her earlier works, or Biophilia/Vulnicura even. Not really what I was expecting.
