Been interesting to keep track of Andrew, I think he went (and still is) in Iceland living and making music/videos there. I'm sure something will surface eventually he's still too compelled to write.

I'll still secretly hope they will reunite in a few years, would be really pity if they didn't

Honestly he's okay, it's Andrew and the bassist who shine mostly. Their first one that played up until Heaven and Earth did much more intricate and varied perfomances imo

I'm right with you there. But I love how he always plays in really entertaining ways without getting boring or stealing the show. Just like Abe Cunningham of Deftones for example: Always on point, never too much, never too less/few (whatever is correct)

That's an astute comparision. Still, I think for Arcane Roots' kind of music a more technical and intricate performance would be more fitting

I can imagine. Now I get sad again that they disbanded. Such a shame.

their last drummer was fine, but previous one was really cool. His perfomances on, for example, Sacred Shapes, Energy is never lost or even their Nirvana cover were stunning. Not overcomplex but memorable and extremly fitting to songs mood

I'm still really, really bummed that these guys broke up. Was hoping to see em in the states sometime

I got to see them three times in total, so i guess i'm lucky at that rate. Quite a shame they disbanded so early, there are not that many talented bands in this genre around as there used to

Andrew did a new song/demo for Boss pedals, which could be considered a kind of one-off Arcane Roots mini-reunion, since Jack from Arcane Roots does drums on this. Apparently you can get the full song by supporting him on his Patreon.

Yeah it really is a shame how so many talented bands are more or less forced to quit early. This new demo/song is awesome though! Very intricate guitar playing a la Blood & Chemistry

When I saw em live the first time at the ATG last year, I was instantly sad because aside from this phenomenal album I experienced first hand what a world class live band they are
