They're really close, but yeah I'd prob still have Hammer a little above this.

I like the production style this band has sometimes where they layer a higher pitched shriek with a long low growl underneath. Sounds really twisted. I think they do it often enough to mention. Correct me if I'm wrong but i think it's pretty unique to them. When you hear it, you think oh that's Cradle of Filth/Dani.

For sure bro. People have tried to replicate, but nobody can do it like Dani.

It's pretty damn close but Hammer just edges it, not by much though.

Dani's shrieks are still as lethal as ever.

I would have to go w/ Hammer atm, but that's only because I've spent the last two years listening to it on a weekly basis. This definitely has the potential for that, and honestly even though I may not **like** it **more** it's definitely a much more mature, complex release, that really built off everything Hammer had to offer.

Wester Vespertine creates the darkest and saddest atmosphere I think I've ever heard in a COF song- the background choral vocals and keys are something else.

Hammer was a monumental moment for the band because it marks them finally getting back on track after years of mediocrity. It was worth celebrating and getting excited for and I truly believes this builds off it beautifully. Given time it could definitely overtake HOTW.

I personally like Thornography a lot (unpopular opinion) but it's simplified and really riff heavy. Good grooves all around. Godspeed is okay and more "black metal". Venus Aversa and Manticore are hot garbage.
