What does the album title mean?

not sure about the album title but she said this about the Flux. Hiss. Welt. Groan motif:



"Each song has many worlds inside it," Wolfe says. "A way for me to bring the songs together on this record was a list of short words with big meanings: flux, hiss, welt, groan, swarm, spun, scrape, [and] strain. They became a sort of guide. Flux represents movement and flow. Hiss is life force and white noise. Welt is the brutality of life, [and] groan represented sensuality and death."

Whatever you want it to mean.

spooky. first 3-4 tracks got me jacked then it sort of petered out.

This album is ridiculously consistent, to the point where tis greatest faults are that a lot of the melodies and instrumentation can't stand out because it all sounds the same at first

Upon further listens however, some tracks are really starting to stand out, especially that closer jesus

The Culling is the best thing on here, though, and maybe the best thing she's ever done.

Not sure how to feel about this, it's worth revisiting as I really like her voice but the songs haven't really come together yet. Patience may be needed.

Haha, I'm looking forward to it. A lot of the instrumentation is very understated & blends together so it might take a while. I like the general vibe & (like I said) she's got a great voice.
