This worth a listen? I liked LITD when it came out but completely forgot about these guys. Didn't even know they had released this till today.

This is just as good tbh. Less dreamy but has still plenty of the lush textures and subtle details that make the band so great.

I Was There is relatively unremarkable imo. Wouldn't make my top 20 TWoD songs.

I don't rate albums seriously. I stopped when I gave sonic and treb my old account.

this is way more boring and less memorable than LITD, which is among the best of the decade so far

It scratches a different enough itch for me to be worthwhile. LITD is the superior one though. This probably isn't actually a 5 tbh but I'm keeping the rating for now.

Do you feel that west coast wind blowing through your beautiful mane?

knocked down is the first song on here so far to really stick out

how many times can this band get away with writing a fast-tempo song with the exact same drum beat

Still an album without any real highlights for me.
Closest I get is I tend to listen to the first six songs in the daytime and the final four songs are a night time jam for me.
I do have to remind myself this album exists, it doesn't command replays like the previous album did.

Ok, put it another way, none of these songs would break my top 30 songs of the year.
There would have been two or three candidates on the previous two albums.
Strangely this doesn't really mean I think all that much less of this album as a whole. It's still pretty solid, if bordering on unmemorable/indistinct.

Doof if you don't accept that Thinking of a Place is a classic we can't be friends any more. Song of the year by a country mile.
Aside from that this has three other 5/5 tracks for me in Pain, Holding On and Strangest Thing, and nothing is below a 4/5.

I don't know why I can't engage in any of the tracks here as standalone songs...
I'll try the tune in isolation a few times today, see what does
