never heard this one surprisingly, flipped in on looking for something short. it's p good. idk didn't really connect with it. love the twangy dark melodies and the bass playing is really nice too. vocally the kind of whispery soft airy tone i don't really dig much. just a bit spotty for me. lots of builds that don't really pay off in satisfying ways to me. decent but kinda one ear out the other. i think braid does this kinda style better.
worth checking ugly organ?

Pretty much all their albums sound different but still have that cursive sound in some way so if this didn’t do it for you definitely try other albums there is bound to be something for you.

i’m very shocked from that Futures. not sure which more, that you hadn’t heard this or that you didn’t dig it too much. this is the goat to me, in probably all of “indie” and it’s many raindroplet spin offs of the umbrella genre. the lyrics are the best of the best, dat guitar tone, interplay between tim and the bandmates background singing at times. i know you really love 90s emo so don’t be afraid to peep their first 2 despite their less than savory averages. and ofc ugly organ and burst and bloom as a companion piece/bridge between this and it.
then there’s also The good life fronted by tim as well. novena on a nocturn and black out form a quasi trilogy and “Album of the Year” from them is stellar as well.
tim had sooo much sauce back then but he’s still got quite a bit nowadays too. vitriola from cursive is pretty respected as a comeback and i like get fixed quite a bit too maybe e even moreso even tho it’s like a glorified b sides album
