one of the worst takes I’ve ever read. the snare sounds like an actual shotgun blast to the face. it honestly might be the best part of this record.

Still hate the snare drum but this album is growing on me. This must have been fucking mind blowing when it first came out. Crazy how well this band holds up to this day.

The snare's one of my least favorite parts about this and SBG as well. But for me, it's more a problem with the performances than the production... maybe I'm spoiled by the prog era of Death, but the incessant bashing of the snare without many interesting fills does get pretty grating after a while. Especially on Primitive Ways

2 things.
1. You can’t dislike the drums in this and also like death metal. that’s like saying you like cars but hate driving.
2. The relapse remasters are so fucking bad. it is genuinely offensive that you can only access the remastered versions anywhere on the internet. thank god I still have my original CD rips.
