Watching an interview Roby and Valerie did yesterday. They say the new album is like a culmination of all their previous work. They're both clearly super high, especially Valerie who is constantly looking around the room and at one point randomly starts using a back scratcher on Roby lol. She's also wearing a hi-vis shirt like a crossing guard or something. They say the new one revolves around the theme of love and is less ambiguous lyrically than their early work. They also say the songwriting process is influenced by their connection with each other. Seems like they're actually a couple? They say they're still hoping for a late spring release and aim to make more music after that

Yes you do. VDC is their masterpiece but this is also amazing and has a fairly accessible sound that pretty much everyone likes at least a little. Probably a good starting point

Rejammed it just for you. Outro is a bit better than I remembered but the main melody line in the verses is still annoying, and more importantly there ain't no way this deserves a higher rating than Reveille, Sound-Dust, Speaking In Tongues, Juju or Dire Straits' s/t. 3.9 is a good place to be
Forgot it had a bitcrush reprise of the melody, so that's cute. Wish the verse harmony sounded that good

it's kinda hard to tell which part is the verse tbh, the opening part sounds more chorusy but I guess being that it's at the beginning it might be the verse idk

watched the rest and they confirmed the band is named after acid lol. and Roby discovered Slowdive because a goth girl he liked who sat at his desk in the period before his in high school carved their name into the desk. quality info here
