Kurt Ballou is a champ, he makes everything sound good.
His chunky, mid-drenched guitar sound always rules

lol that's actually why I checked it out. Revolver typically sucks but their top 20 was pretty decent this year (great by their standards, or I'm just getting old), and this was their #1. It's a pretty good record, but I can't see myself coming back to it very often. Ballou's production is great as usual, but I'd rather hear him producing High on Fire or Doomriders records. The songwriting here has its moments, but is mostly derivative.

I enjoy the direction they went in, to me it's basically hardcore with Nu-metal and Industrial influences. I'm pretty sure they would've fallen off the map if they kept with the Code Orange Kids sound.

I do agree with the review though, there's loads of stop starting and it can be dead distracting at times. Production is class though
