I can feel the weight of expectation already.

Demon, Akercocke's side project (which I strongly encourage You to check out afterwards) "Voices"--who actually have an excellent album literally titled "London"--simply say they are from "South London". I'm not sure exactly where, but one of the band's taglines is "The true sound of South London". I have a review of that very album up on the site. Oh, and this album is gonna kick You ass!

Interesting stuff, good to know.

South London is a completely different place compared to other parts of London; I have a mate whose family is from there (Bermondsey/Rotherhithe area). There's still jacked up football hooligan types that go around extorting pubs and running dodgy scrapyards lol

There are dodgy areas all over London, admittedly certain undesirable behaviors are more prevalent in specific places but some parts of North London are scary af.

In North London I'm only familiar with Islington and Camden. Islington seems to be a mostly posh area these days except for a few pockets of chavs. Apparently it's home to London's most famous crime family, but I wasn't able to tell by the looks of (most of) the place. Camden also seems to be a considerably "rich" area the more you get to the centre of the city. I've been to Kilburn as well, which is pretty Irish; Not a threatening place imo, but I've heard bar brawls are commonplace over there.

After the first listens of Renaissance in Extremis, I thought eh it's not as good as Words. But what is? NOTHING, I TELL YOU.
This kind of album is one in a hundred years.

Antichrist is Satan evil stuff and riffs so fuckin hard that its crazy. This is a slightly better though.
Also Voices (UK) - London is one nasty brilliant release and insight on the city (never been there though X)). Basically everything these guys touch is great (Antichrist Imperium f.e.)
Glad you're finally starting to get on this Demon m/ (did you?)
Have to go to those first two releases again Hawks.

I haven’t (yet), taking my sweet time over doing-so actually. I will soon, it’s my Extol love that’s delayed things, feel like they’re in the same spectrum of music so I like to introduce new artists slowly in that scenario.

If you re thinking you re going for any kind of Extol experience you ll be surprised...for better or worse I don t know. I think this frankly better, though on the other side of the force lol
PS: Extol is great and awesome but this kills everything lol

I thought this was proggy blackened DM, might be mistaken mind & it could manifest itself very differently I suppose. Regardless I’m looking forward to it.

I think my problem with Antichrist is it really wants to be brutal death 90% of the time. Whereas on Words and Renaissance it's only about 70% & with more bm/prog.
That is a pretty terrible analysis but I'm hungover.
