I like most electronic but trance just kinda bores me. The whole sound palate of trance is all too similar. I haven't jammed a ton of it so that probably contributes to my opinion but there's so much other stuff I'd rather jam first.

I will admit to having a particular distaste for these guys due to hearing their early hits way too many times against my will in my last year of college. Swedish House Mafia also falls into that group.

Nah. I was looking at some industry reports at work and the cover page had this about the author section, which thankfully included that portrait.

This is just millenial pandering at best. Only makes things worse when teens my age start preaching on and on about how "This song really gets me!"
Yep, that is a real situation where I live.

lyrics are just laughable...wonder if they were writing it and actually thought "wow that's some deep and emotional stuff we got" or if they're aware that this could pass as a parody. also chorus after break ruins it.

pretty sure they never thought these lyrics to be anything particularly deep. i mean, they're electronic artists (EDM, if you must) and lyrics on dance songs tend to be well...

Agree with Sinternet about EDM being lyrics-based. Really, if it's only about 'sick beats' and 'bass drops' then people are better off dancing to looped intros of Hip-Hop tracks. Just look at this mess:
I can't keep you from harm
But I'm set on fire to keep you warm
I can't go on and on
Setting fires to keep you warm
I can't keep you from harm
And that's off the first track. It's like they're not even trying.
