ahah keep on the righteous path then...actually due to this recent activity i've been re-listening to this one and it's just awesome...i don't feel like settling at 4...i really dig the tDEP aspects on this!

Now TDEP on the other hand...there's a band I'm long overdue on diving into. Only just listened to Calculating Infinity last night and loved it. Probably gonna do a whole discog run pretty soon.

You just loved the hardest album from them to get into...You ll like the rest, but don't expect anything like it, and just keep in mind they're like an end to end band. They can be mainstream and fucked up underground at same time.

Lol GetLow you have 3 Meshuggah albums 4.5'd, you make it sound like you hate them
DEP are the GOATs in this 'mathcore' style, and possibly the best live band ever

I didn't mean to sound like I hate them (although I do dislike their vocalist). I just wanted to point out a couple places where I think Car Bomb has the upper hand.
I've listened to the first three Dillinger albums now and they're all sick.

Calculating Infinity never gets old.

Yeah, I think that one is going to end up being my favorite. I like that vocalist slightly more than Greg.

I think Dimitri (the vocalist on Calculating Infinity) was perfect for that album, but I think Greg was a better fit for the band in the long term because of his range. Both slay though.

I can definitely agree with that.

I agree on that. Greg gave a lot of personality to the band. His vocal range is amazing and provided the band to have screaming moments as those rock/ grunge moments and feeling faith no more kinda thing. So although Calculating may be their best work to their fans, i just think that if they did 5/6 "Calculating infinitys" would not give them the same success and variability in their music.
|
| |
All very true, I'd say Greg's vocals only got better as the years went on though; they sound amazing on Option Paralysis and Dissociation so there's still plenty for you to look forward to

Sure! And well...unlike Car Bomb....absolutely no one sound like tDEP, only for extremely short portions of time (: trend setters there
|
| |
Agreed, such an iconic sound, even though the later stuff is so so different to Calculating. Ben Weinman is a genius guitarist who doesn't get enough credit

3.9, this has to be a joke right? Currently listening right now, and every single song there's a moment that makes me go "holy fucking shit, adding this to my playlist right now". It's very hard for me to even consider what my favorite songs are Honestly, I could totally see myself 5'ing this depending on how the rest of the album goes.
