Yeah I think in the end I still prefer ocean ave and southern air, but they're both classics in my eyes and this is almost on par. I'm certain that nostalgia and this being their last record have played a role in my enjoyment of this but that's ok with me.

I enjoyed the slower/ballad stuff more, but the anthems kicked ass too. Great collection of songs.

Anyone who uses the term 'kicks ass' would definitely be the sort to 4 a Yellowcard album. You don't happen to think Hootie and the Blowfish are the greatest band of the last 30yrs and believe 'the big four' of grunge is incorrect because Counting Crows aren't mentioned per chance?

Your unwarranted arrogance is showing. Grunge is awful in general. Loosen up zak.

I love the part on 'A Place We Set Afire' where he says "but no one will listen if we just wait here to burn, we gotta swing away gotta cut the wire"

perfect analogy for bowing out before becoming irrelevant

Might bump down. This hasn't really had any replay value past it's release date. It's certainly an enjoyable record but i never feel compelled to spin it

Tho admittedly that's probably bc of the jimmy eat world and green day albums

A lot of this album's appeal for me is sentimental, but even as an unbiased listener it's probably 4 worthy I dunno though it's hard to totally remove bias

i mean, regarding green day thats just more bc i have a lot of bias towards them, so im not surprised how frequently revolution radio has been in my rotation since it leaked. this is objectively the better album

"this, or Bon Iver?"

Throw Radiohead into the mix, and yeah. Decisions decisions for the end of year list. I can't rule out a couple of my 4.5's either for AOTY.

I loved the first track on RR but the rest of it just sounded like tepid AI b-sides.
